Eccles Art Center Welcomes the New Year with Inspiring January Exhibitions

Ogden, Utah — January 2026 — The Eccles Art Center is pleased to welcome the new year with an inspiring celebration of young talent and small-scale creativity. Throughout January, visitors are invited to experience two outstanding exhibitions: the Northern Utah High School Art Competition in the Main Gallery and the continuation of the Petite Impressions Competition in the Carriage House Gallery.

The Northern Utah High School Art Competition is one of the region’s most anticipated student exhibitions, showcasing artwork from high school seniors across Weber, Davis, Morgan, Box Elder, and Cache counties. These emerging artists present work in a wide range of media—including drawing, painting, digital art, sculpture, photography, and mixed media—demonstrating exceptional skill and creative vision at a pivotal stage in their artistic journeys. Scholarships, awards, and professional recognition are presented as part of this competitive exhibition.

In the Carriage House Gallery, Petite Impressions continues with a juried selection of small-format artworks measuring no more than eight inches in any direction. This intimate exhibition highlights the precision and creativity required to work on a smaller scale and offers collectors the opportunity to acquire original works by Utah artists at accessible price points.

A public opening reception for both exhibitions will be held on Friday, January 9, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. This opening will not coincide with Ogden’s First Friday Art Stroll, which takes place on January 2.

Both exhibitions will remain on view through January 31, 2026, during regular operating hours:

Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.; Saturday, 9:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.

The Eccles Art Center is located at 2580 Jefferson Avenue in Ogden’s historic district. Admission is free and open to the public.
