CALL FOR ARTISTS – “BIZart”
The Eccles Art Center dares you to get weird.
We’re calling all rule-breakers, oddballs, surrealists, and creative geniuses to enter BIZart —a juried competition that celebrates the strange, the uncanny, and the downright bizarre. Whether it’s wonderfully weird, playfully grotesque, or deliciously surreal, we want to see artwork that makes people do a double-take and ask, “What is that?!”
ENTRY DEADLINE: Friday, September 26, 2025 – 4:00 p.m.
COMPETITION GUIDELINES
- Eligibility: Open to all artists residing in Utah.
- Theme Requirement: Submissions must embrace the bizarre, celebrating the strange, surreal, unconventional, or offbeat in theme, subject, or execution.
- Media: Original works in painting, original prints, monoprints, drawing, graphics, pottery, sculpture, and textiles are accepted.
- Not Eligible: Photography and reproduction prints (e.g., giclée).
- Entry Limit: Up to two pieces per artist. Multi-part works may be entered as a single piece only if the components are not standalone. Must be priced as one item.
- Size Limit: 3D works must not exceed 60 inches in any dimension.
- Registration Accuracy: Double-check spelling of your name and artwork title when registering—display cards will be printed exactly as entered.
- Recent Work: All entries must have been created within the past two years and must not have been previously exhibited in a juried EAC exhibit.
- Display-Ready: All works must be ready to hang or display. Art work in front loading frames will NOT be accepted. Framed works must include wire. No alligator hangers, D-rings, V-rings, or keyholes. Framing Guidelines can be found by clicking here.

No entries accepted after 4:00 p.m. on Friday, September 26, 2025.
LIABILITY
All reasonable care will be taken; however, the EAC is not responsible for damage resulting from improper framing.
- Unaccepted work must be picked up by October 5, 2025
- Accepted work must be picked up by November 5, 2025
Work left beyond these dates may incur storage fees. Unclaimed work after 60 days will be considered abandoned.
SALES
Works may be for sale (not required). The Eccles Art Center retains a 35% commission on all sales.

- Juror’s Award: $100
- Director’s Award: $100
RECEPTION & EXHIBIT
Opening Reception: Friday, October 3, 2025, 5:00–8:00 p.m.
Awards Posted: 5:00 p.m. at the reception and online.
Exhibit Dates: October 3–31, 2025 (Main Gallery)
PICK-UP DATES
- Unaccepted Work: by October 5, 2025, 9:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
- Accepted but Unsold Work: by November 5, 2025, 9:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
ENTRY FEES
- $10 per entry
- $5 per entry for Art Center members
- Artist Members receive one free entry
Entry fees are non-refundable and help support prizes and promotion. Tags will be provided at drop-off. Artists will be notified of jury results via email.

BIZart Competition Registration Form
The Eccles Art Center grants the undersigned artist permission to display their artwork in the Eccles Art Center at 2580 Jefferson Avenue, Ogden, Utah, from October 3 to October 31, 2025.
The Eccles Art Center cannot accept responsibility for works damaged during shipping or due to incorrect or poor framing.
I acknowledge that artwork left over 60 days at the Eccles Art Center is deemed abandoned and may be sold or disposed of at the Board of Directors' discretion.
