Students will be introduced to Brights, Flat, and Filbert brushes and their various uses. Students will become familiar with basic color theory and how to mix and create color with a pallet knife. Painting supports like canvas, canvas board, and wood panel options will be introduced. The qualities of painting mediums or varnishes and how to use them will be introduced. Basic composition and simple drawing skills will be discussed as students prepare to paint. By the end of class students will complete a finished acrylic painting. A supply list will be provided to registering students.
