The Eccles Art Center invites Utah artists to embrace the wonderfully weird in BizARRT 2026, a juried exhibition celebrating art that challenges expectations and ventures beyond the ordinary.
From surreal dreamscapes and fantastical creatures to dark humor and delightful absurdity, we welcome work that surprises, intrigues, and inspires.
Selected pieces will transform the Main Gallery into a showcase of the extraordinary.

BizARRT Entry Guidelines
Who Can Enter
BizARRT is open to all artists who currently reside in Utah.
What You Can Submit
- Each artist may enter up to two pieces.
- Original works in any medium are eligible, including:
- Paintings
- Original prints and monoprints
- Drawings and graphics
- Pottery and sculpture
- Textiles
- Mixed media
- Digital art, as defined below
- Entries must have been created within the last two years.
- Entries must not have been previously exhibited in a juried exhibition sponsored by the Eccles Art Center.
- Artwork should reflect the spirit of BizARRT by exploring the bizarre, surreal, unusual, unexpected, fantastical, or otherwise unconventional.
What Is Not Eligible
The following will not be accepted:
- Works consisting of multiple parts, including diptychs and triptychs
- Photography
- Reproduction prints, including giclées
- Artwork generated wholly or partly by artificial intelligence
- Two-dimensional works in clip frames or front-loading frames
Digital Art Requirements
For this competition, digital art means artwork created directly by the artist using digital tools such as tablets, styluses, and art software.
All digital entries must be original works conceived and produced solely by the submitting artist.
The following are not considered digital art:
- Photography, whether filtered, manipulated, or otherwise altered
- Scanned images
- Found graphics
- Stock imagery
- AI-generated content
Size Limit for 3D Artwork
Three-dimensional entries may not exceed 60 inches in length or width.
Display and Framing Requirements
All entries must arrive ready for display. Artwork must be ready to hang, mounted, gallery wrapped, matted and framed, or otherwise appropriately prepared for exhibition.
Framed work must include wire or a similar hanging system.
Works with only the following hardware will not be accepted under any circumstances:
- Alligator hardware
- D-rings
- V-rings
- Keyhole hangers

ENTRY DROP-OFF
Monday, September 21 - Friday, September 25, 2026
10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Work will not be accepted after 4:00 p.m. on Friday, September 25, 2026.
LIABILITY
Every reasonable precaution will be taken to protect work submitted. Work not accepted for exhibit left after October 6, 2026, and accepted work left at the Art Center after November 3, 2026, will be left at the artist’s own risk and storage charges may accrue.
Works left at the Center for more than 60 days will be deemed abandoned and may be disposed of at the discretion of the Board of Directors.
The Eccles Art Center does not accept responsibility for works damaged due to incorrect or poor framing.
SALES
The Eccles Art Center will retain a 35% commission on all sales. Selling your work is encouraged but not required.

Best of Show: $300
Honorable Mentions (3): $100 each
Director’s Award: $50
Juror’s Award: $50
PICK-UPS
Work not accepted for exhibit must be picked up on or before October 6, 2026, during regular Art Center hours.
Accepted work not sold must be picked up on November 3, 2026, during regular Art Center hours.

OPENING RECEPTION & EXHIBIT
An opening reception will be held on Friday, October 2, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Eccles Art Center.
Awards will be announced and posted at the reception.
The exhibit will be on display October 2 through October 31, 2026.
This project has received funding from Weber County RAMP and Ogden City and is supported by the Utah Division of Arts & Museums, with funding from the State of Utah and the National Endowment for the Arts.
ENTRY FEES & FORMS
$10 per entry
$5 per entry for Eccles Art Center members
Members with an Artist Membership receive one free entry into this competition.
Entry fees are used for prize money and publicity and are non-refundable.
Entries must be clearly identified with the artist’s name, title, medium, and price or insurance value. Identification tags will be provided at the time of entry.
Notification of jury results will be emailed to the address provided during registration.
