CALL FOR ARTISTS – “ART IN GREEN” Competition
The Eccles Art Center invites Utah artists to explore the power and possibility of green in our 2025 Chromatic Challenge: “Art in Green.” This juried exhibit, featured in the Main Gallery throughout September, celebrates the richness of green in all its shades—lush, earthy, electric, or serene. Artists working in any medium are encouraged to let this color take the lead, using it as the dominant force in their creative expression. Let green grow wild in your imagination!
ENTRY DEADLINE: Friday, AUGUST 29, 2025
COMPETITION GUIDELINES:
- Eligibility: Open to all artists residing in Utah.
- Theme Requirement: Entries must be entirely green in composition, with black and white allowed only as minimal accent colors.
- Media: Original works in painting, original prints, monoprints, drawing, graphics, pottery, sculpture, textiles.
- Photography and reproduction prints (e.g., giclée) are not eligible.
- Entry Limit: Up to two pieces per artist. Multi-part works may be entered as one piece only if the components are not standalone works. Must be priced as one item.
- Size Limit: 3D work must not exceed 60 inches.
- Recent Work: Entries must have been created within the past two years and must not have been previously exhibited in a juried EAC exhibit.
- Display-Ready: All works must be ready to hang/display. All hanging works must have a wire. No alligator hangers, D-rings, V-rings, or keyholes. Framing Guidelines can be found by clicking here.

LIABILITY:
All reasonable care will be taken; however, the EAC is not responsible for damaged work resulting from improper framing. Work left after September 5, 2025 (unaccepted) or October 3, 2025 (accepted) may incur storage fees. Unclaimed work after 90 days will be considered abandoned.
SALES:
Works may be for sale (not required). The EAC retains a 35% commission on all sales.

- First Place: $300
- Second Place: $200
- Third Place: $100
- Juror’s Award: $100
- Director’s Award: $100
PICK-UP DATES:
- Unaccepted Work: by September 5, 2025, 9:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
- Accepted but Unsold Work: October 3, 2025, 9:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
RECEPTION & EXHIBIT:
Join us for an opening reception:
Friday, SEPTEMBER 5, 2025, 5:00–8:00 p.m.
Awards will be announced at the reception.
The exhibit runs from September 5 to 27, 2025, in the Carriage House Gallery.
ENTRY FEES:
- $10 per entry.
- $5 per entry for Art Center members.
- Artist Members receive one free entry.
Entry fees are non-refundable and support prize awards and promotion. Tags will be provided at drop-off. Artists will be notified of jury results via email.

The Eccles Art Center grants the undersigned artist permission to display their artwork in the Eccles Art Center at 2580 Jefferson Avenue, Ogden, Utah, from September 5 to September 27, 2025.
The Eccles Art Center cannot accept responsibility for works damaged during shipping or due to incorrect or poor framing.
I acknowledge that artwork left over 60 days at the Eccles Art Center is deemed abandoned and may be sold or disposed of at the Board of Directors' discretion.
