3rd ANNUAL NORTHERN UTAH HIGH SCHOOL ART COMPETITION
CALL FOR ENTRY
Deadline December 16, 2021
The Eccles Art Center Northern Utah High School Art Competition is open to High School Senior Student artists (12th grade) who presently reside in Northern Utah including those in Davis, Morgan, Weber, Box Elder, Cache and Rich Counties. Original works in any medium including paintings, prints, monoprints, drawings, graphics, pottery, photography, sculptures, jewelry, and textiles are eligible. Original work is defined as artwork developed from personal experience, imagination, and direct observation from life, or multiple personal photographs or sketches. REPRODUCTION PRINTS such as giclée and COPY WORK (artwork directly copied from one source) ARE NOT ELIGIBLE. Work must have been completed within the past two years and not have been previously exhibited in a juried exhibit sponsored by the Eccles Art Center.
Artists are limited to a total of two entries. Works consisting of multiple parts may be entered as a single work only if each of the parts cannot exist as a complete work by itself. Multiple parts of a work may not be priced separately.
Entries must be ready to hang, mounted, matted and framed and otherwise ready for exhibition display. TWO-DIMENSIONAL WORK, LARGER THAN 21” x 21” WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED IN CLIP FRAMES. FRAMED WORK MUST INCLUDE WIRE OR SIMILAR HANGING SYSTEM. Works will not be accepted with only alligator hardware, D-ring, V-ring or keyhole hangers under any circumstance.
REGISTRATION AND RECEIVING
Students must register online on the form below. There will not be forms provided to register when artwork is received. Registration is open online now, through December 16, 2021.

Work will not be accepted after 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 16, 2021
Every reasonable precaution will be taken to protect work submitted. Work left at the Art Center after January 5, 2022 is left at artist’s own risk and storage charges may accrue. Works left at the Center for over 90 days will be deemed abandoned and disposed of at the Board’s discretion. The Eccles Art Center does not accept responsibility for works damaged due to incorrect or poor framing.
A price or insurance value must be indicated for all items entered. Sales will be encouraged and the Eccles Art Center will retain a 35% commission on sales. Students should work with their teachers to determine a price for their work. Consideration of the cost of the materials including framing, time invested and the center’s commission should be reviewed when determining a price. WORK NOT FOR SALE MUST BE MARKED ‘NFS’ AND A VALUE FOR INSURANCE PURPOSES GIVEN.
ENTRY FEES & FORMS
The Board of the Eccles Art Center have decided to underwrite the fees for the 2021 Northern Utah High School Art Competition. Students and Schools will not be charged a fee for entering this year’s competition.
Entries must be clearly identified by the artist with title, medium and price/value.
Identification tags will be provided at the time of entry.
Students will be informed of acceptance in to the competition by email. Teachers will also receive a list of students that have been or have not been accepted.
Work not accepted must be picked up on or before January 4, 2021 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. & 5:00 p.m.
Works accepted for exhibit and not sold must be picked up January 31, 2021 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. & 5:00 p.m.

BEST OF SHOW: $5000
AWARD OF MERIT (3): $2000
JUROR’S AWARD: $1500
HONORABLE MENTION (3): $500
The exhibit will be on display January 7 through 29, 2022
